New Student Orientation

New Student Orientation

Orientation is the first part of the orientation process designed to assist you in making a comfortable transition to University life at UMSL. It is a one-day mandatory program for First-Year students who will be enrolling in the fall or spring semester at UMSL.  Sessions are designed to offer information to assist you in your transition to University of Missouri-St. Louis.  Programs provide academic requirements and expectations, campus resources, involvement opportunities and the chance to meet current students.  Orientation Leaders will serve as hosts and share their experiences with new students. Administrators and faculty will also be present at sessions throughout the day to answer questions and give you advice about your educational future.

Each of the Orientation sessions will accommodate approximately 100 new students and their family members. If you would like to stay on campus to provide an opportunity to experience residence hall living at UMSL and to interact with the upper class orientation student leaders also living in Oak Hall, please email orientation@umsl.edu to make arrangements. Breakfast and lunch will be provided during the Orientation session.

Check-in for Orientation will be held at 8:00 a.m. of each session.

Activities will conclude at 5:00 p.m., so please make travel plans accordingly.

An Orientation Information Brochure will be mailed to each student when online orientation registration is live. Please read the entire brochure before attending Orientation.

Please DO NOT make travel arrangements until you have registered for orientation.

Registration for Orientation will be available in February.
